In our outgoings efforts to improve our services to satisfy all customers, Indochina Junk has launched many new good junks, created many distinctive and green itineraries, introduced many extra services which are the added values for our customers.
Indochina Junk always concerns that how could we preserve the invaluable Halong Bay Heritage while we keep building more new boats and tourism is blooming there. That explains our "For a Green Halong Bay" program has been implemented and achieved outstanding results. Launched in 2008, “For a Green Halong Bay” becomes a guideline for our development with some main projects:

1. Collecting and treating waste in Halong Bay.
2. Changing all the Styrofoam floats underneath the floating houses by plastic floats which can be durable, long lasting and safe for environment.
3. Providing life jackets to the local fishermen
4. Re-planting mangroves forests in Halong Bay
5. Building new floating schools for the children

After 2 years, with our non-stop efforts, “For a Green Halong Bay” gained such below great results:

1. 80% of rubbish in Cong Dam & Vung Vieng fishing villages was collected and treated.
2. 128 life- jackets were presented for the local household.
3. 2 hectares of mangroves forests were full-filled.
4. Help to build new floating school in Vung Vieng fishing village.

In 2011, to develop the “For A Green Halong Bay” program, for all 3 day and longer cruises on our junks, we will organize some responsible activities in order to support the local fishermen and protect the environment in Halong Bay. And 5 USD per client’s cruise rate will be contributed to support this meaningful program.
