FAQs on Our Cruises
When is the best time to visit Ha Long Bay? Summer is a good time to cruise on Ha Long Bay but, the best time of year is during the spring or early fall. The bay is situated in the northern part of the country, so it can get colder in the late fall and winter, and though you won’t see extremes such as blizzards, it is still a lousy place to be when it gets cold. Tip: You should bring a swimsuit with you; moonlight swimming in the phosphorescent water is also very nice (must be before your drinks though).
Do you visit Sung Sot Cave in Ha Long Bay? No, we do not, since we only cruise to Bai Tu Long Bay, we will visit a different cave in this area. Please note that this cave is still unpaved.
How many people do you take on your Red Dragon junks? The Red Dragon is designed small to get into the hidden lagoons of Bai Tu Long. There are five cabins on each junk and they can hold up to 10 visitors on one trip.
Do we need to bring towels with us on this trip? No, you do not have to, all of our junks are well equipped and have all you need. Kind of like being on a floating 4 star hotel.
What if the weather turns very bad? If the weather turns bad, we have to call our clients to inform them of the situation and whether it’s safe to go. We work closely with our captains and will inform you before you leave Hanoi so that you do not waste the day traveling on road. If the weather turns bad while you are cruising, we could anchor our junk in protected places amongst the islands. This is normally the safest option. Indochina Junk is yet to witness bad enough weather forcing us to hide in a cave.
